MCD will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20, in honor of Presidents' Day.

The Great Miami River Watershed received an average of 4.05 inches of precipitation in January —1.26 inches above normal. The high station was Eaton (5.22 inches) and the low station was Fort Loramie (2.58 inches).

More than 55 inches of rain have fallen in the Great Miami River Watershed this year  – 17 inches more than the average annual precipitation. And the good news is that our region’s riverfront cities have not flooded.

The City of Miamisburg will host its April Fool's Day 5K Run and One Mile Fun Walk on Sunday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. along the Great Miami River Recreation Trail. Contact Sheila Russell at 937.847.6670 or sheila.russell@cityofmiamisburg.com.

The American Medical Student Association will host the AIDS 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to noon at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark and the Stillwater River Recreation Trail. Call Shaina Gerad at 419.303.8726 or slgerad@gmail.com.

The YMCA of Greater Dayton will hold its Downtown YMCA River Run on Friday, June 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. along the Great Miami River and Mad River recreation trails.
